Colorado Springs is a beautiful location to get married. Lets just be real 🙂 The beautiful mountains, the red rocks, the chill atmosphere of the entire city.. It is perfect! There are so many amazing venues here; or mountain spots to elope too! Whatever you decide, I am here to give you the low down as a Springs local.

As a wedding photographer specializing in Colorado Springs weddings, I’ve had the honor of capturing love stories at breathtaking venues all over the region. And let’s be real – planning a wedding comes with a ton of questions. That’s why I’m here to break down the most common FAQs about a Colorado Springs wedding.

FAQs About Your Colorado Springs Wedding:

1. Do I Need a Marriage License in Colorado?

Yes! The good news? Colorado makes it super easy. You and your partner can apply for a marriage license at any county clerk’s office in the state (El Paso County for Colorado Springs weddings). There’s no waiting period, and you don’t even need an officiant—yep, you can self-solemnize! I really dislike that word for some reason though. Self-solemnize? Eeek. Lets just say you get get married just the two of you 😉 Just for the record, Colorado Springs has recently stated they cannot have their pets sign as a witness anymore. 🙁 Sad day!

2. When is the Best Time to Get Married in Colorado Springs?

Every season here has its charm, but spring through fall is ideal if you want stunning outdoor photos. Summer brings warm sunshine and blue skies, while fall paints the mountains in golden hues. Winter weddings? Dreamy snow-covered landscapes, but keep an eye on the unpredictable weather! Even with snowstorms happening the day of – you can still get amazing snow photos (IF your willing to go out in it). Photo example:
