The 3 Best Things About Getting Married at Garden of the Gods

  1. Breathtaking Scenery
The best thing about getting married at this park the fact that it is BEAUTIFUL. Garden of the Gods offers one of the most stunning backgroundfor a wedding. With its towering red rock formations, lush green trees and grass, and sweeping mountain views, your ceremony will feel like something out of a dream. The natural beauty of the location means your photos will be vibrant, elegant, and full of life.
  2. Intimate Atmosphere
Having your wedding at Garden of the Gods means you get to elope with some of your favorite family and friends (or just the two of you). This park is the perfect ceremony place if you are wanting a smaller, more intimate wedding. The calming and awe-inspiring setting makes it perfect for couples who want an intimate wedding surrounded by nature. Whether you choose to have just a handful of guests or a small gathering, the park’s charm creates a romantic, unforgettable experience.
  3. Outdoor Adventure Vibes
For couples who love the outdoors, this historic location is the perfect venue. It’s a celebration of nature and adventure, providing a unique and personal touch to your wedding day. Guests can enjoy the scenery and even explore some of the park’s iconic trails before or after your ceremony.

The 3 Worst Things About Getting Married at Garden of the Gods

  • Crowds and Limited Privacy
As a popular tourist destination, Garden of the Gods can be quite crowded, especially during weekends or peak seasons. This might mean less privacy during your ceremony. There could be spectators nearby, which can make the day feel less intimate. It is quite common for the popular Garden of the Gods locations to have five to ten other photographers on the scene. To have more privacy, choose a location with the help of a good photographer (me!) that is more intimate, while still giving you enough space for your guests. It is also a good idea to have your Garden of the Gods elopement on weekday. A weekday will give you a lot more privacy and space.
  • Weather Unpredictability
Colorado weather is unpredictable. Since Garden of the Gods is an outdoor venue, you need to be prepared for sudden changes. Wind, rain, or extreme sun can pose challenges, and having a backup plan is essential.
  • Permit and Accessibility Limitations
  • You need to have a permit and reservation for specific spots. Also, some areas may not be easily accessible for older people or those with mobility challenges. But otherwise, the public park is first come first serve. The most perfect epic spot has a good chance of taken by a different wedding at that time. To avoid this, find a local wedding photographer (like me, Michelle! 🙂 ) who can give you location suggestions that are less crowded. Also, make sure you have family or friends go to the spot early to save it for you.
